Groupware

  There is no overall agreement as to exactly what makes up "groupware." However, the basic concept of the importance today of a set of computer tools that helps users work together as a "group," even when not physically located together, is well established.

Definition

   "Software for people working together on a project.Groupware makes it possible for several people to work on the same file at once, via a network. It also helps with scheduling meetings and other kinds of group planning. Lotus Notes is a popular groupware package." (ComputerUser High-Tech Dictionary, May 10, 2000)
