BUS 704 as the Capstone Course for the MBA Program

The course, BUS 704, Policy, Planning and Strategy Systems, serves as a capstone course in the MBA program. Students normally take this course near the end of their program, immediately prior to taking the comprehensive examination (which contains a case study from the course).

The course is based on lengthy case studies representing a broad range of types of organizations. To successfully complete these case studies, students must demonstrate their ability to:

Mastering the above objectives serves to establish that the students have not only completed individual courses in the program, but can actually integrate the knowledge they have gained from various courses, utilizing appropriate tools and theories to solve complex management problems. As such, this course not only provides new content knowledge in the area of strategic management, but also serves as an integrative experience at the end of the MBA program.
