Walt Disney

 1. In 1934 Disney talked about his studio as an "idea factory," and followed the approach that hiring more people would generate more good ideas.

    A. Present an argument agreeing with this idea.
    B. Present an argument disagreeing with this idea.

2. America was in a long and deep recession in the 1930s, yet Disney grew steadily. Why? Relate this to:

    A. the company's strategies.
    B. the external environment

3. Disney signed exclusive distribution agreements with Columbia for movies and ABC for TV.

    A. Didn't this go against his pledge to always retain control and ownership?
    B. What were the advantages of the deals?
    C. What were the disadvantages?

4. Quality:

    A. How did Walt Disney view quality?
    B. How did he handle conflicts between quality and profits?
    C. How are these conflicts handled in the company today (35 years after his death)?
