Guest Speakers

Guest speakers represent an opportunity for you to learn more about the practical aspects of an area covered in the course, as well as to learn more about opportunities and career directions within the field.

Guests are giving their time in order to assist you in your education, and in some cases gather further information as to whether they will hire St. Thomas graduates. Accordingly, it is important that all students present themselves in a professional manner in all dealings with guest speakers.

To this end, all students are required to prepare questions in advance for each guest speaker. These questions are graded and are the major portion of your participation grade.

Questions must be relevant, professional, and intelligent. Additionally, they should be related to the speaker’s particular background and their presentation topic. Political questions and other questions not relevant to the course will not be considered.

Requirements:

1. Submit two advance questions in writing by e-mail (rk@kulzick.com) no later than the Sunday prior to the guest’s scheduled presentation.

2. Ask at least one complete, intelligent and relevant question to one of the guest speakers in the first half of the course (to be defined verbally) and one question in the second half of the course.
