FAQ
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats

Note that these responses are not official additions to the theory, only explanations for the cases based on the specific questions received.

The company was doing xxx. Could this be both a strength becuase of yyy and a threat because of zzz at the same time?

Can something be two different things at once - for example, both a strength and a weakness?  Yes, because it depends on how the organization views it and on the specific wording you use to express it. For purposes of this course, use only one side in listing s/w or o/t.

Can who owns how much of the stock, in order to protect against a hostile takeover, be considered a threat?

This is not related to the company, it is a personal issue, unless such a thing would reasonably be expected to significantly harm the company itself. Your view is the company, not the stockholders, or the executives.
